Carbon Nanotube Deposition System
Carbon nanotube synthesis at the Nanomaterials Innovation Center is now possible using the on-site First Nano EasyTube™ 2000. This system is a catalyzed Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) system capable of enabling synthesis of single-walled and multi-walled carbon nanotubes. Carbon feedstock is provided from the decomposition of gases such as Methane or Ethylene while processing temperatures of 800 °C - 1000 °C for SWNT and 550 °C - 750 °C for MWNT allow an amorphous carbon re-assemblage into nanotubes at the catalyst. The EasyTube™ 2000 is strictly a laboratory recipe research tool that will allow our industrial customers and partners the ability of investigate nanotube synthesis for a host of carbide such as Silicon Carbide and Boron Carbide.
- Research scale thermal catalytic chemical vapor deposition process tool
- Capable of sythesizing a wide variety of nanostructed materials including single or multi-wall nanotubes
- Use of different gases enables silicon carbide, and boron carbide in addition to carbon
